Property Utilities
Client: Revolve Energy/Shoal | Role: Sole Product Designer | Timeframe: 3 Weeks
Property Utilities
Case Study
Overview
Revolve Energy delivers renewable energy solutions across New Zealand.
Responsibilities: Product Planning, Ideation, Workshops, UX/UI Design, High-Fidelity Mockups, Prototyping, Usability Testing

The Problem
As the sole designer, I collaborated closely with a Product Manager to create a scalable, mobile-first platform that allowed users to manage property services and permissions with ease.
Manual processes using spreadsheets
Complex permission structures requiring technical knowledge
Lack of mobile accessibility
No clear user journey or interface consistency

The Solution
I designed a user-friendly interface that replaced complex spreadsheets and reduced reliance on engineering expertise—within a tight three-week timeline.
Mobile-First Design: Built using Bootstrap to accelerate development
User Flow Mapping: Defined micro-journeys and acceptance criteria
Permissions Matrix: Designed roles for Site Managers, Property Managers, and Super Admins
Iterative Prototyping: From low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity mockups
Live Testing: Validated with real users before launch

The Results
A successful product launch, late 2023.
Faster Onboarding – Clear user roles and flows reduced training time
Improved Usability – Mobile-first design enabled access on the go
Streamlined Operations – Eliminated spreadsheet dependency
Live Product – Production version launched and available on request
